Eight Days, Eight Teams: A Festival of Hurling Awaits
Ever wondered how all of our teams are faring? The wait is over. The jerseys are clean, the hurleys are ready, and the stars have truly aligned: over the next eight days, every one of our eight hurling sides from the Under-7s right up to the Seniors will take to the field.
Remarkably, all six juvenile fixtures are set for home soil, while the Juniors and Seniors head to nearby neutral venues for crucial championship clashes.
The action begins on Saturday, September 6, when our Juniors face Kiltale in the Championship Semi-Final at Longwood. Throw-in is scheduled for 2pm, a fixture that promises intensity from the first whistle.
24 hours later, attention shifts to Trim where our Senior team meet Navan O’Mahonys in the 5th round of the Championship on Sunday, September 7. Throw-in is at 4pm, with plenty on the line in what is sure to be a fierce battle.
The following evening, Monday, September 8, the spotlight falls on our Minors (U17s) as they welcome Kildalkey to home turf. Action gets underway at 6:30pm.
Two nights later, on Wednesday, September 10, our U15s continue the home run of fixtures, hosting Ratoath under the lights at 6:45pm.
The weekend brings a hive of youthful energy as Killyon’s pitch comes alive on Saturday, September 13. Our Go Games squads — U7s, U9s, and U11s — host a blitz featuring Boardsmill, Na Fianna, and Longwood. Throw-in times to be confirmed, but all games are expected to run in the morning, ensuring a carnival atmosphere.
Finally, the festival of hurling concludes on Sunday, September 14, when our U13s line out at home against Trim. The ball is thrown in at 10:30am, closing an extraordinary eight-day stretch of non-stop action.
From the smallest sliotar carriers to the seasoned warriors of the senior ranks, this is a week that captures the very heartbeat of our club.
